On August 27, 2026 – the same day its second BlueHouse lounge opened at Boston Logan Terminal C – JetBlue announced that complimentary BlueHouse access now extends to all customers with a confirmed Mint or Mint Flex fare, at both its Boston and JFK locations. In the coming weeks, JetBlue will also roll out Mint Base, a cheaper Mint fare that strips out several of the perks that make Mint worth booking.
What Actually Changed for BlueHouse Access
This is a real expansion, not just a rebrand. Until this announcement, complimentary BlueHouse access at JFK was limited to Mosaic 4 members, JetBlue Premier World Elite Mastercard holders, and customers on transatlantic Mint itineraries specifically – domestic and other non-transatlantic Mint passengers could only get in with paid access. As of August 27, that route restriction is gone: any confirmed Mint or Mint Flex ticket, on any route, now qualifies for free entry, up to three hours before departure.
Meet Mint Base: The Trade-Off for a Cheaper Mint Fare
JetBlue President Marty St. George confirmed Mint Base is designed to let more customers try the Mint cabin at a lower price – but the savings come with real exclusions. Mint Base will not include:
- BlueHouse lounge access – the free entry described above applies only to standard Mint and Mint Flex, not Mint Base.
- Complimentary advance seat selection – Mint Base passengers will not get to pick their seat ahead of time for free.
- Free changes and cancellations – fees will apply, unlike the flexibility typically associated with Mint fares.
Standard Mint and Mint Flex fares are unaffected – both retain BlueHouse access and complimentary advance seat selection exactly as before. Mint Base is a new, lower tier being added underneath them, not a replacement.
Why This Is Landing Now
JetBlue timed the access expansion to coincide with the opening of its second BlueHouse location – a 12,000-square-foot lounge at Boston Logan Terminal C, joining the original JFK Terminal 5 location that won Newsweek’s “Best Airport Lounge” award for 2026. With two lounges now live, JetBlue has more physical capacity to support a wider complimentary-access policy than it did when BlueHouse was a single, JFK-only location.
The Bottom Line
If you already book standard Mint or Mint Flex, this is a straightforward win – free BlueHouse access now travels with the fare regardless of route, not just on transatlantic trips. The catch is on the horizon: once Mint Base launches in the coming weeks, the cheapest “Mint” ticket on JetBlue.com will no longer guarantee a lounge visit, a pre-picked seat, or flexible changes. Worth double-checking which specific Mint fare you are booking once Mint Base is live, rather than assuming every Mint ticket comes with the same perks.
