Before you ever reach Mosaic status, JetBlue already starts rewarding you for flying and spending. TrueBlue Milestone Rewards let you pick a perk at four checkpoints on the way to Mosaic 1 — 10, 20, 30, and 40 tiles — and JetBlue just added a new option that can shave tiles off the climb entirely. Here’s exactly how the system works, what you can pick at each milestone, and how to choose well.

What Milestone Rewards Actually Are

JetBlue’s TrueBlue program tracks progress toward elite status in tiles, not miles flown. You earn 1 tile per $100 spent on qualifying JetBlue travel (flights, JetBlue Vacations, TrueBlue Travel) and 1 tile per $1,000 spent on an eligible JetBlue credit card. Reach 50 tiles in a calendar year and you’ve earned Mosaic 1, the entry-level elite tier.

Milestone Rewards sit in front of that 50-tile line. At 10, 20, 30, and 40 tiles, you unlock the choice of one perk, good toward your next eligible flight. You don’t have to be anywhere close to Mosaic to benefit — even an occasional JetBlue flyer who never reaches 50 tiles in a year still gets to cash in whatever milestones they do cross.

This is a separate system from Mosaic Perks You Pick, which operates similarly but kicks in only after you’ve actually reached a Mosaic tier (1 through 4) and lets you pick from a different, richer menu that includes things like tile bonuses, point bonuses, and — at the higher tiers — Premium Upgrade Certificates. Milestone Rewards are the warm-up; Perks You Pick is what happens once you’ve arrived.

The Four Milestones and What You Can Pick

At each of the four tile thresholds — 10, 20, 30, and 40 tiles — you choose one of the following for your next eligible flight:

  • Early boarding
  • One free alcoholic drink per flight
  • Expedited security
  • JetBlue Vacations bonus
  • 5,000-point TrueBlue bonus
  • 2-Tile Bonus (new, effective February 1, 2027)

The same menu repeats at every milestone, and you choose independently each time — you could pick the points bonus at 10 tiles, early boarding at 20, and the drink perk at 30 and 40. Selections apply to your next eligible flight after you make the pick, not to every flight going forward, so these are one-time-use perks rather than ongoing benefits.

New: The 2-Tile Bonus Can Shorten the Path to Mosaic 1

JetBlue announced on October 22, 2026 that starting February 1, 2027, a sixth option joins the milestone menu: a 2-Tile Bonus, added directly to your tile total instead of a travel perk. Pick it at all four milestones (10, 20, 30, and 40 tiles) and you add 8 tiles total — enough to reach Mosaic 1 at 42 earned tiles instead of the full 50, since the bonus tiles count toward your status total.

That’s a genuinely useful option for anyone sitting just under the Mosaic 1 line at the end of the year, since it’s the only milestone choice that directly accelerates status rather than just adding a one-off travel perk.

Which Perk Should You Actually Pick?

  • Close to Mosaic 1 at year-end? Take the 2-Tile Bonus at every milestone once it’s available (Feb 1, 2027) — it’s the only option that moves your status needle directly.
  • Flying again soon with family or a group? Early boarding or the free drink can matter more in the moment than a small points bonus, especially on a full flight where overhead bin space is tight.
  • Not flying again soon, or flying rarely? The 5,000-point TrueBlue bonus is the most portable choice — it doesn’t expire the way a travel-day perk effectively does if you don’t fly again before year-end.
  • Planning a JetBlue Vacations package? The JetBlue Vacations bonus is worth checking against the points bonus for your specific trip before picking it on autopilot.

Since tiles reset every calendar year and milestone perks don’t carry over, there’s no benefit to hoarding a pick — make your selection as soon as a milestone unlocks rather than waiting.

How Family Tiles Affect Your Milestones

Since February 2026, Family Tiles lets tiles earned by children 12 and under on the same reservation count toward a linked adult’s total. Those tiles count toward milestone thresholds the same as any other tile, so a family that travels together can realistically blow through all four milestones — and potentially Mosaic 1 itself — faster than an adult traveling alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need Mosaic status to get Milestone Rewards?

No. Milestone Rewards unlock at 10, 20, 30, and 40 tiles, all below the 50-tile threshold for Mosaic 1. Any TrueBlue member earning tiles can reach these milestones regardless of whether they ever reach Mosaic status.

When does my milestone perk get used?

It applies to your next eligible flight after you make the selection, not to every future flight. If you do not fly again before the tile year resets, an unused travel-day perk effectively goes to waste.

What is the new 2-Tile Bonus option?

Starting February 1, 2027, a sixth milestone option lets you add 2 tiles directly to your status total instead of taking a travel perk. Picking it at all four milestones adds 8 tiles, meaning Mosaic 1 could be reached at 42 earned tiles instead of 50.

How is this different from Mosaic Perks You Pick?

Milestone Rewards are the pre-Mosaic system at 10/20/30/40 tiles with a simple five-or-six-option menu. Mosaic Perks You Pick is a separate, richer system that only starts once you actually reach Mosaic 1 through 4, with options like tile bonuses, point bonuses, and Premium Upgrade Certificates.

Do children’s tiles count toward my milestones?

Yes, if you have Family Tiles set up. Tiles earned by children 12 and under on the same reservation count toward a linked adult's total, including progress toward the 10/20/30/40-tile milestones.
