American Airlines is introducing a new Grab and Go Lounge format called “Provisions by Admirals Club”, built for short connections and quick refreshes rather than long stays. The first location is scheduled to debut late summer 2025 at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT).
What is “Provisions by Admirals Club”?
It’s essentially an express, to-go version of an Admirals Club: a compact space where eligible travelers can pick up fresh, pre-packaged food and non-alcoholic drinks and get one-on-one help from an agent, then head out. The design emphasizes speed, simplicity, and convenience—very much in line with the “Grab and Go Lounge” trend we’ve seen across U.S. airports.
Confirmed features (from AA’s announcement):
- Personalized agent assistance for rebooking and itinerary needs
- Sandwiches, salads, snacks, and fruit (vegetarian options noted)
- Streamlined layout with high-top standing tables and minimal furniture to keep traffic moving
Exact Location (and How to Find It)
- Airport: Charlotte Douglas (CLT)
- Concourse/Gate: Concourse A, next to Gate A1 (airside)
Wayfinding: After any TSA checkpoint at CLT, follow signs to Concourse A (no trains or shuttles are needed; all concourses connect under one roof). The lounge will sit by Gate A1 on the main Concourse A pier (A1–A13). Expect a ~5–10 minute walk from the central Atrium depending on crowds. For official airport maps and estimated walk times, see CLT’s terminal map tools.
AA hasn’t posted operating hours yet. When available, they should appear on AA’s CLT lounge page and/or the airport’s interactive map. For reference, CLT’s existing Admirals Clubs generally operate from early morning to late evening, but Provisions’ hours may differ. Check AA’s CLT lounge listing for updates.
As of now, AA has only announced CLT. Neither the press release nor industry coverage lists additional airports yet; several outlets explicitly note that future locations haven’t been named.
Who Can Get In (Access & Pricing)
AA states that access mirrors standard Admirals Club rules:
- Admirals Club membership (including access via the Citi / AAdvantage Executive card)
- Qualifying oneworld status on eligible itineraries
- Eligible AAdvantage elites on qualifying international trips
- One-Day Pass: $79 or 7,900 miles (valid for 24 hours)

Is It Really “Grab and Go”?
Yes—that’s the point. Provisions is a Grab and Go Lounge where food and beverages are to-go, seating is limited, and the agent desk is a core amenity. Think of it as an in-between option: more than a concourse snack stand (because you also get agent support), but quicker than settling into a full club. Media coverage consistently frames it this way.
Other airlines have also tested similar grab-and-go lounge concepts. Here are a few places that are similar:
- United Club Fly in Denver (B Gates, near B60) is a special quick-stop location with packaged snacks and premium coffee.
- Delta launched Sky Club Grab-and-Go stations in 2024, which are takeaway food counters at JFK and Atlanta airports.
Bottom Line
Provisions by Admirals Club is AA’s first Grab and Go Lounge: a compact, agent-staffed, food-to-go space set to open late summer 2025 at CLT Concourse A by Gate A1. It follows standard Admirals Club access rules and is built for travelers who value speed over seats—grab a bite, get help if you need it, and make your connection. We look forward to the opening and video review of the first AA Grab and Go Lounge, and will be sure to post them here for you.
