Unlocking United Platinum Benefits For Savvy Travelers

United Premier Platinum is where MileagePlus elite status starts to feel genuinely powerful. 2. Three free checked bags in economy

Platinum members get 3 free checked bags in economy. That is materially stronger than the lower tiers and can be worth a lot if you travel internationally, check equipment, or travel with family.

3. 40 PlusPoints

Members earn 40 PlusPoints when they reach Premier Platinum, while Premier 1K members receive 280 more when they hit that tier. These PlusPoints can be used for premium-cabin upgrade requests.
