Delta Air Lines is preparing to open its second Delta One Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on October 10, 2024. In June 2024, the first Delta One Lounge was opened at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York.

The opening of the LAX lounge is part of Delta’s ongoing efforts to expand its premium international lounges, with plans to open additional lounges in Boston (BOS) and Seattle (SEA) in late 2024 and early 2025, respectively.

Location and Size

The new Delta One Lounge at LAX will be situated in Terminal 3, offering convenient access via an elevator directly from the Delta One business class check-in area. At 10,000 square feet, this lounge is significantly smaller than its JFK counterpart, which spans nearly 40,000 square feet and accommodates over 500 guests. Despite the smaller footprint, the LAX lounge is designed to serve a more limited number of travelers due to Delta’s smaller international network from Los Angeles.

Access and Eligibility

Access to the Delta One Lounge is restricted to certain passengers, and general Delta Sky Club membership or qualifying credit cards do not provide entry.

Delta One Passengers

Those traveling in Delta One business class on the same day, whether departing or arriving.

Delta 360 Members: Members of Delta’s 360° program fly in first class on a same-day Delta-operated flight.

Partner Airline Passengers

Those flying in first or business class on Delta’s partner airlines, including:

  • Air France La Première and Business Class (long-haul)
  • LATAM Premium Business Class
  • KLM Business Class
  • Korean Air First and Prestige Class
  • Virgin Atlantic Upper Class

Travelers must be at least 18 years old to access the lounge unaccompanied, and gate passes are not issued for lounge entry — eligible passengers must present a same-day boarding pass for a qualifying flight.

Guest Policy and Companion Fees

Delta 360 Members traveling in Delta One or First Class can bring up to two companion guests or their immediate family (spouse/domestic partner and children under 21) for a $100 entry fee per guest.

Children under 2 years old can enter for free if accompanied by an eligible customer.

Access to the Delta One Lounge when you upgrade to Delta One

Passengers who received a complimentary upgrade to Delta One are also eligible for Delta One Lounge access if they have a confirmed Delta One seat at check-in.

Amenities and Experience

While detailed information on the lounge’s amenities is not fully available yet, it is expected to offer elevated, restaurant-style dining similar to other Delta One lounges. The JFK Delta One Lounge is known for its high-quality food and seating, including a 140-seat restaurant, and although the LAX lounge is smaller, passengers can anticipate a luxurious experience. More details on the specific amenities at LAX will be revealed in a media preview on October 7, 2024.

Delta One Lounges Expansion

Delta is expanding its Delta One Lounges to keep up with the competition, as American Airlines and United Airlines have already built extensive networks of Flagship and Polaris Lounges. With the new lounge at LAX set to open in October, Delta also plans to launch a smaller 6,300 square-foot lounge in Boston’s Terminal E by the end of 2024, followed by another lounge in Seattle in early 2025. This swift expansion highlights Delta’s commitment to improving its premium lounge options for international travelers.
