This is like a bigger version of their current Up to 3X fall deal, and they’re getting rid of the usual limit on how many points you can get if you book during those two days.

How the 5X Works
When we say 5X, we mean you’ll get five times the base points. Base points are what everyone earns before any extra elite bonuses. So, if you spend $100 on a night at most of our hotels, you usually get 1,000 points. With this 5X offer, we’re adding an extra 4,000 promo points, giving you a total of 5,000 points before your elite bonus.
Keep in mind that elite bonuses (like +20% for Silver, +40% for Gold, +60% for Platinum, or +100% for Diamond) only apply to the base points, not the promo points.
Also, here’s something key: To get that 5X deal for your December stays, you need to book on December 1st or 2nd. If you booked before that, think about canceling and rebooking. Just make sure you’re okay with the rate rules. After December 2nd, any new bookings will go back to the regular fall deal of up to 3X points.

- Registration: Already registered for “Up to 3X”? You’re auto-registered for 5X. Not registered? Register on/ before Dec 2.
- Qualifying stay/rate: Book direct with IHG at a Qualifying Rate; nightly room spend must exceed US$30 (or equivalent). OTAs (e.g., Expedia/Booking) don’t qualify. Reward Nights/Points & Cash do not qualify for the 5X.
- Uncapped: There is no points cap on the 5X offer (unlike the autumn promo).
- Base earn differences: Most brands earn 10 pts/$ base; Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites earn 5 pts/$ base.
