Marriott’s “Eat Around Town” Offer: Earn 8X Bonus Points (Until October 31, 2025)
PointsCrowd is a community-supported platform. When you apply for a credit card, make an order, or otherwise interact with the advertisers through the links on this page we may earn an affiliate commission. This helps us maintain and develop the platform further at no cost to you.
Offer Ends: 10/31/2025
All October, every Eat Around Town by Marriott Bonvoy (EAT) member earns 8 points per $1 at participating restaurants when paying with a linked card. New members can also snag up to 6,000 bonus points within their first 60 days, and there’s an ongoing 200-point reservation bonus you can stack.
What’s the offer?
Dine in or order takeout at 20,000+ participating U.S. restaurants and earn 8 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar when you pay with a linked card. No separate registration; prices/earn show automatically. Valid Oct 1–31, 2025.
For Those Who Are Just Registering
If you are not yet a member of Eat Around Town by Marriott Bonvoy, you can also earn up to 6,000 bonus points by joining before October 31. Then, within 60 days, place three orders totaling more than $30 (including taxes and gratuities) and submit a short review after your order to receive 1,000 + 2,000 + 3,000 bonus points (once per member). In October, everyone earns 8X per $1, so three $30 checks yield 6,720 points total (6,000 bonus + 720 base).
Want more? Reserve through the EAT widget for +200 points per completed reservation (maximum 1 time per day, 8 times per month), which would lift this example to 7,320 points.
Outside promo windows, standard earn is 4X for members and 6X for Bonvoy elites (Ambassador, Titanium, Platinum, Gold, or Silver); October temporarily boosts everyone to 8X.
Who’s Eligible?
Eat Around Town is an American restaurant rewards program from Marriott Bonvoy, valid only at participating restaurants in the United States. To participate, you must be a Marriott Bonvoy member and register your card with Eat Around Town.
How to Enroll
- Join/sign in to Eat Around Town and link a credit or debit card.
- Use the linked card to pay your check at a participating spot. Tax and tip count toward points.
- Do not pay via third-party ordering/delivery apps; those don’t earn. Limit one bonus-qualifying visit per restaurant per day. Points can take up to 6–8 weeks to post.
- You can’t multi-home cards: one card can be linked to only one Rewards Network program at a time (if you add it elsewhere, it’ll be unenrolled here).
Can I be in multiple dining programs at once?
You can enroll, but the same card can only be linked to one program at a time.
Is 8X Good? The Value Math
Recent valuations put Marriott Bonvoy at ~0.7–0.76¢/point. So 8X at face value returns ~5.6% (0.7¢) to ~6.1% (0.76¢) back in points—before your credit-card earn, the 6,000-point new-member bonus, or the +200 reservation kicker. That’s why October is the time to link a card and route your dining through EAT.
Best Credit Card for Dining
Below are the best credit cards to use with Marriott Bonvoy’s Eat Around Town (EAT).
Marriott Bonvoy points post in addition to your card’s rewards. You don’t need a Marriott co-brand; link any eligible Visa/MC/Amex to EAT and pay directly at the restaurant (no third-party delivery apps). One card can be linked to only one Rewards Network program at a time.
Card (official page) | Annual fee | Why it’s great for EAT |
---|---|---|
Amex Gold Card | $325 | 4X MR at restaurants |
Chase Sapphire Reserve | $795 | 3X dining plus premium travel perks; strong if you value Chase transfers |
Chase Sapphire Preferred | $95 | 3X dining at a modest fee; great all-rounder |
Citi Strata Premier | $95 | 3X dining (plus 3x air/supermarkets/gas); solid if you prefer Citi points. |

Capital One SavorOne | $0 | 3% back on dining (simple cash-back stack with EAT). |

Bottom line
For October, 8X makes Eat Around Town a no-brainer for U.S. diners, especially new members who can stack the 6,000-point welcome path and +200 reservation bonuses. Link your best card for dining, verify a spot is participating, and keep receipts until the points post—then repeat.
Who knew racking up points could be this much work? 8X in October sounds great until you realize you need to actually *use* your card, *not* some third-party app, and you can only link *one* card to *one* program at a time – because apparently, my wallet has commitment issues. But hey, if youre a new member, its like finding money in your coat pocket, right? Just gotta hope those points post before winter hits!
