Hyatt offers an opportunity for individuals who wish to upgrade their membership status through the Status Match Challenge program. This limited-time offer allows employees of certain corporations to achieve an elevated status within the World of Hyatt program.
Understanding Hyatt Status Match
Hyatt’s approach to status matching and participation in the challenge is not publicly available, as is the case with some other hotel loyalty programs (e.g. Hilton, Wyndham Rewards, etc.). In 2025, employees of certain international corporations (e.g. IBM, Siemens and others) may be eligible for a status upgrade that will grant them immediate Explorist status for a 90-day trial period without having to meet the requirements (for regular members, 30 qualifying nights in a calendar year), with the possibility of further retention until February 2027 under certain conditions.
To maintain or upgrade this status, you must meet certain requirements during this 90-day period.

Steps to Engage in a Hyatt Status Match
- Verify that your corporate affiliation makes you eligible to enter a Hyatt contest or promotion.
- Register for the program by December 31, 2025 at hyatt.com/25trialtier.
- Enjoy your temporary status. Explorist status for 90 days from the date of registration.
- To maintain your Explorist status through February 2027, you must stay at least 10 qualifying nights at any Hyatt hotel or resort within 90 days of enrollment (instead of the standard requirements of 30 night or 50,000 base points).
- To upgrade to Globalist by February 2027, complete the following stays: 20 qualifying stays within 90 days of enrollment (instead of the standard requirements of 60 night or 100,000 base points).
Globalist status provides even more rewards, such as a room upgrade to a standard suite (subject to availability), 30% bonus points on eligible purchases, club access, or a daily full breakfast.
Members can only register for the Hyatt Trial Offer once every 3 years and are limited to one registration per email address.
Terms & Conditions
Explorist Trial: Upon registration, World of Hyatt members with Member or Discoverist status will receive a trial upgrade to Explorist status for their Qualification Period. The trial will provide the member with the benefits of Explorist status, as set forth in the World of Hyatt program terms, for 90 days as part of the trial. To maintain Explorist status through February 2027, member must complete at least ten (10) Tier-Qualifying Nights (as defined in the World of Hyatt program terms) at any participating Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide during their Qualification Period. If members complete at least twenty (20) Tier-Qualifying Nights at any participating Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide during their Qualification Period, they will receive Globalist status through February 2027.
Globalist Quick-Qualify for Current Explorists: Upon registration, World of Hyatt members with Explorist status will have the opportunity to earn Globalist status through February 2027 by completing at least twenty (20) Tier-Qualifying Nights at any participating Hyatt hotels or resorts worldwide during their Qualification Period. If members satisfy the above requirements during their Qualification Period, they will receive Globalist membership through February 2027. The offer will provide the member with the benefits of Globalist membership.

Keep in mind that only hotel stays count—nights from credit cards or promotions don't.
