If you’ll be in Japan or Guam this fall, Hyatt’s “Be More Foodie” dining promo is a simple way to bank extra World of Hyatt points on meals—without a hotel stay. Below, I’ll break down how it works, what’s excluded, the cap math, and smart stacking tips so you don’t leave points on the table.

What’s the deal, exactly?

Hyatt is giving diners a limited window to earn 2X points (10 total per eligible USD) on Eligible Non-Stay Charges at select restaurants and bars across Hyatt hotels and resorts in Japan and Guam. You must register and show your World of Hyatt number (and ID) at purchase; only direct, non-room payments qualify. The bonus is capped at 10,000 Bonus Points per member for the promo. Posting may take 2–3 weeks. Outlet participation varies and some locales exclude alcoholic beverages from eligibility.

Promo window: Dining between Sept 26–Nov 30, 2025 (JST) counts—but only after you register. Registration is available during the campaign period.

How to Participate (Step-by-Step)

  1. Register via the Hyatt campaign page (linked from hotel pages like Grand Hyatt Tokyo’s promo).
  2. Dine at a participating on-property outlet in Japan or Guam during Sept 26–Nov 30 (JST). Participation is limited—ask the venue to confirm they’re in the promo.
  3. Pay at the outlet (don’t charge to your room if you want this promo), and provide your World of Hyatt number at checkout.

Tip: Hyatt’s FAQ confirms you can earn points on non-stay restaurant spend and that elite tier bonuses apply to those base points.

What Counts—and What Doesn’t

Eligible: Food & beverage spend at participating, Hyatt-operated restaurants/bars (including some takeout where offered). Must be paid directly at the outlet with an eligible payment method and tied to your WoH number at purchase.

Not eligible (common pitfalls):

  • Charges posted to your hotel room (the promo is for non-stay charges paid at the outlet).
  • Third-party-operated venues on property (varies by hotel; participation is limited—always ask).
  • Company/house accounts, gift cards/certificates, or redemptions (per typical Hyatt terms). When in doubt, ask before paying.

Earning math

You’ll earn 10 total points per USD until you hit the promo cap (composed of 5 Base + 5 Bonus). The Bonus portion is capped at 10,000 points, which means you max the promo with $2,000 in eligible spend ($2,000 × 5 bonus = 10,000).

Elite bonuses stack on Base points: Hyatt’s FAQ says tier bonuses apply to Base earnings on eligible restaurant spend (e.g., +10% Discoverist, +20% Explorist, +30% Globalist). Only Base Points count toward status. Bonus Points (including this promo) don’t

Credit card stack (merchant-coding caveat): World of Hyatt consumer/business cards typically earn 4X at Hyatt; if the outlet codes as a generic restaurant, expect 2X instead. Either way, card points are separate from Hyatt Base/Bonus points.

Quick examples (per $200 bill, before tax/service)

Globalist + card (4x)1,0001,000+3008003,100

Elite bonus applies to Base points only (10%/20%/30%).

** If the charge codes as “restaurant,” expect 2X (400 points on $200) instead of 4X.

Value check: Recent valuations put Hyatt points around 1.7–1.8¢ each. That makes the 10,000-point cap worth ≈$150–$180 in travel value if you redeem well.

Bottom line

Hyatt’s Japan & Guam 2X dining offer is easy, generous, and perfect for stacking with elite and card earnings. Register, verify the outlet, pay at the venue, give your WoH number, and you’re set. Maxing the 10,000-point cap isn’t hard if you’ve got a few nice meals planned—and at ~1.7–1.8¢/point, that’s $150–$180 of real value for something you were going to do anyway.
