Hyatt Globalist benefits are one of those rare cases where the marketing headline actually matches the on-property experience. Hyatt keeps adding brands and tweaking its terms, but the top tier — Globalist — still sits in a different class from most hotel statuses. You get automatically waived resort/destination/facility fees on eligible stays, free parking on award stays, club-lounge access or full breakfast when there’s no lounge, 4 p.m. late checkout, real room upgrades (including standard suites when available), and priority service through My Hyatt Concierge. On top of that, you can make someone else feel Globalist through Guest of Honor — which is now scarcer and therefore more valuable. If you’re going to chase one hotel status, make it Globalist.
In 2025, Hyatt updated its terms at least twice — once in May and again in August. The changes affected breakfast, which now has hotel-level exceptions; guest of honor is no longer unlimited for everyone, and parking works as you would expect, only when the hotel can charge it to your room. So let’s figure out what Globalist gives you right now and how to activate each benefit.
What Globalist
Globalist is the top World of Hyatt elite tier. You normally qualify with 60 qualifying nights, 100,000 base points, or 20 qualifying meetings/events in a calendar year. The status is valid for one calendar year, but more precisely, it all depends on how quickly you get it: the status is valid from the moment it is earned until the end of the current year + one calendar year (12 months) + 2 months (until February 28). That is, at least 14 months.

Hyatt Globalist benefits list still starts with: 30% bonus points, club lounge access (or breakfast if no lounge), room upgrades including standard suites on availability, 4 pm late checkout, waived resort/destination fees on eligible stays, free parking on award stays, and priority/guaranteed availability.

The Benefits You Can Bank On
Let’s start with the fact that Hyatt Globalist benefits work almost everywhere.
30% points bonus
All Globalists get the base 5 pts/USD plus 30% → 6.5 pts/USD at participating hotels. This stacks with promos like Bonus Journeys when available.
4 pm late checkout
This continues to be a real differentiator versus Marriott or Hilton because Hyatt front desks actually know about it. As always, it’s “when available,” but Globalists report consistent success outside of high-demand days.
Resort/destination/facility fees waived on eligible paid stays and on free night awards
This is the part everyone loves: book a Category 6 resort on points, and that annoying $45–$60 daily fee disappears. In 2025, with more properties moving up a category, the ability to wipe those fees still supports the idea that Globalist is the best top tier.
Free parking on award stays
Parking is free on award stays at properties where parking charges are billed to your room folio.
This has saved Globalists hundreds of dollars on city and resort awards. The only nuance is that the parking has to be hotel-controlled and billed to your room. If the hotel says “we don’t own the garage,” you might be out of luck.
Room upgrades, including standard suites, on availability

This is still the norm at many Hyatts, especially outside the super-urban, super-peak dates. The 2025 editorial guides and trip reports still show real upgrades happening. But remember: this is different from confirmed Suite Upgrade Awards you get via Milestones — those are the reliable ones.
Voice of the customer
Real reviews from participants online: upgrades are possible, sometimes significant, but far from guaranteed — and the variation in experience is enormous. Upgrades are real, but they depend on the situation—property type, dates, and availability of luxury rooms are all important factors. If you book a resort, especially during holidays, this significantly reduces your chances of getting a room upgrade.

One Reddit user shared tips on how to most effectively ask for updates: if the upgrade is not automatically received, call the hotel and ask: “Before I push the check-in button on my app, I wanted to see if a complimentary upgrade was available.”
Breakfast & Lounge Access
Hyatt’s public promise is simple: Globalists get lounge access; when there’s no lounge, they get breakfast for up to two adults and two kids registered in the room. That’s still the rule.
In August 2025 Hyatt has published more brand/residence exceptions and the community has spotted them.

So check the Terms and Conditions for property-level exclusions — don’t make assumptions.
Guest of Honor (GOH)
Until 2023/early 2024, Globalists could simply book a Guest of Honor (GOH) stay for anyone, and that person would receive Hyatt Globalist benefits. But later, Hyatt decided to make GOH something you earn through Milestone Rewards. So in 2025, you can let someone enjoy Globalist benefits during their stay, but only if you have a Guest of Honor award in your account.
GOH stays in 2025 still offer good benefits — breakfast/lounge, award fee waivers, late check-out, upgrades — and can now also apply to paid stays, which is a nice quiet improvement. But since it’s now a scarce benefit, you have to prioritize: give GOH to a friend staying at a $500-a-night resort, not your brother-in-law at Hyatt Place.
My Hyatt Concierge
Globalists have access to a dedicated My Hyatt Concierge agent and phone line that can help resolve various booking or stay issues.
Peloton Benefits
By linking your Peloton and Hyatt accounts, you earn 100 points for qualifying rides and rows on Peloton equipment at participating Hyatt hotels, up to 10 times per month.
Where Globalist quietly saves the most money
Globalist is at its best on high-fee, high-breakfast-cost properties redeemed on points.
Example:
- Resort fee: $50/night
- Parking: $30/night
- Breakfast for 2A+2C: $100/day (conservative at resort)
- 4-night award stay
Real value = (50 + 30 + 100) × 4 = $720
That’s $720 in “stuff you didn’t have to pay” because you were Globalist. Even if the redemption itself was “only” 1.5¢/pt, the effective value of having Globalist on that stay is much higher.
It is quite difficult to obtain Hyatt Globalist elite status; you need to be truly loyal to the brand and a frequent traveler. But here’s what can help you achieve the desired status, читайте нижче.
Ways to accelerate getting Globalist status
1. Not everyone knows about status matching. What is it? If you already have a higher status in another loyalty program, you can receive (on an individual basis and at Hyatt’s discretion) status matching to Globalist.
To do this, you need to submit an application, and you may be automatically approved for a status match or offered a “challenge.” Challenges require you to stay or spend a certain amount to earn or maintain elite status for a certain period of time. But the requirements are usually lower than standard.

2. Keep an eye out for promotional offers, as they sometimes offer not only discounts and bonuses, but also simplified ways to get Hyatt status (here is an example of such a proposal from last year.).
Conclusions
Globalist remains the only widely available status that regularly waives resort/destination fees for reward stays, includes breakfast or lounge access, and offers late check-out. This combination is rare. The status benefits aren’t just “nice” — they remove actual charges from your bill (resort fees, parking during bonus stays, breakfast for the family). The more a hotel typically charges you in small fees, the more Globalist is worth. At regular full-service Hyatt hotels, the Globalist breakfast is strong (2A+2C when the lounge is closed). At residences, resort clubs, and new/less serviceable brands, you’ll need to check the terms and conditions for 2025. And you can still make someone a “temporary Globalist,” but now it depends on achievements. This means that GOH should be used strategically.
In 2025, Hyatt did not weaken Globalist status — it added friction. All the main benefits remain unchanged; what has changed is that you will now have to check the brand/hotel rules more often.
How to get Globalist lifetime?
Hyatt gives you Lifetime Globalist status when your account hits 1,000,000 base points (in cash terms, 1,000,000 base points ÷ 5 = about $200,000 in Hyatt spending).
What does not count:
- Credit card spending (Chase Hyatt cards) → does not help you earn Lifetime status, as these are bonus points, not base points.
- Free nights / award nights → great for earning status, but do not count toward lifetime status.
- Elite nights → Hyatt does not grant lifetime status for nights; 2,000 nights will not get you this status without the corresponding spending.
What counts:
- Paid nights booked through Hyatt (including Hyatt Privé, qualifying rates).
- Qualifying incidental charges billed to the room (food, spa) that earn base points.
- Hyatt Homes & Hideaways and FIND experiences also earn base points, sometimes 10 times more, so this can speed up the process a bit.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to track “base points for all time” in your online account. So how can you check? Check your monthly Hyatt activity/statement email (your lifetime base points are displayed at the top), or send a message/call Hyatt and ask about your lifetime base points. When you are close to your goal (within 25,000), Hyatt will usually send you an email with a “you're getting close” message.
