Why These Additions Matter

  • Berlin (BER) gives Québec travelers a direct link to Germany’s capital, with a comfortable A321XLR cabin for the overnight eastbound.
  • Nantes (NTE) opens up France’s Loire Valley and Brittany/Atlantic coast without a Paris connection—great for summer road trips.
  • Ponta Delgada (PDL) taps into strong Canada–Azores ties and summer island demand; it’s Air Canada’s third Portuguese destination after Lisbon and Porto.
  • Halifax–Brussels creates a new Atlantic Canada gateway to Europe, with onward links across Europe and Africa via Star Alliance partner Brussels Airlines

Air Canada is working to become the second-biggest transatlantic network in North America by the number of destinations it serves. News sources say this is why Air Canada is adding new destinations. They’ve already announced they’ll be flying from Montréal to Palma de Mallorca and Catania, and from Toronto to Shanghai and Budapest, all starting in 2026.
