Offer Ends: 09/12/2025

Alaska Airlines is launching nonstop flights from Seattle to Seoul this Friday, September 12, 2025—and it’s kicking things off with one of the most generous promos we’ve seen on a U.S.–Asia route: buy one economy ticket and your companion flies for only the taxes and fees. There’s also a matching award sale starting at 20,000 Atmos points each way. Both offers cover travel through December 15, 2025, and you must book by Friday, Sept. 12

This isn’t a codeshare curiosity. Alaska will operate the service five times weekly using a Hawaiian Airlines 787-9 Dreamliner under the Alaska Air Group umbrella—a first for Alaska’s long-haul 787 operations out of Seattle. That aircraft brings enclosed business-class suites, large 18-inch screens and modern cabin tech; Starlink Wi-Fi is slated for installation next year.

What the cash BOGO really offers

Punch in promo code SEOULBOGO at alaskaair.com, buy one main-cabin fare on the Seattle–Incheon route, and the second traveler pays only taxes/fees. Both passengers must be on the same reservation, same itinerary, and the offer applies to flights operated by Alaska or Hawaiian, not partners or codeshares.

Both travelers on paid BOGO tickets earn Atmos Rewards points and status points for the miles flown. That’s roughly 5,200 miles each way on the nonstop, credited to each traveler.

Independent deal posts also note exclusions for Hawaii origins/destinations and Prudhoe Bay.

Or book awards from just 20,000 points each way

Prefer to save cash? Alaska is simultaneously discounting award seats on this route to 20,000 Atmos points each way in main cabin when you travel by December 15. No promo code needed—just search awards on alaskaair.com by the Friday deadline. Alaska confirms award flyers earn status points (not redeemable points) based on distance flown, which can be meaningful progress toward elite tiers on a single trip.

The discount from the regular price is approximately 30,000, according to various estimates, which is very significant.

How to actually book it (and maximize your odds)

Open alaskaair.com and search round-trip or one-way between SEA and ICN for travel through December 15.

  • For cash: select main cabin fares, enter SEOULBOGO in the discount field, and ensure two passengers are on the same booking. If you’re not Seattle-based, you can include Alaska/Hawaiian feeder flights that connect to the Seattle nonstop (subject to availability).
  • For awards: skip any promo code and search using Atmos points; look for the 20k price point in main cabin. Availability is limited and may move quickly; several outlets reported live deals today and encouraged flexibility with dates.

If you’re positioning from elsewhere in the U.S., compare through-ticket pricing versus a separate positioning hop—today’s write-ups show the BOGO applies so long as all flights are operated by Alaska or Hawaiian and connect to the Seattle–Seoul nonstop. That gives you a bit of routing flexibility without running afoul of codeshare exclusions.

The bottom line

This launch promo is unusually strong for transpacific travel—half-price companion tickets on cash fares and a 20k-each-way award option, both on a brand-new Seattle–Seoul nonstop operated by a modern 787-9. Book by Friday, Sept. 12, 2025 for travel through Dec. 15, 2025, and read the fare rules closely—availability is limited and the best dates will go first.
