Offer Ends: 10/15/2025

Marriott Bonvoy is advertising a limited-time 3× points offer on Hertz rentals of 3+ days when you book through the Bonvoy Tours & Activities car-rental portal. The headline dates: book by October 15, 2025 for pickups through November 15, 2025. The promo sits on Marriott’s own site and in the car-rental search flow, so it isn’t a rumor—this is an official push.

What “3× points” actually means

Under the standard partnership, Bonvoy members earn 500 points per Hertz rental (or 250 with Dollar/Thrifty). Some guides note elite members can get an extra 200 on Hertz, which is how Marriott arrives at the “up to 2,100 points” marketing line for a 3+ day Hertz booking during this promo: 700 points × 3. The base earn remains per rental, not per day—3× simply multiplies the usual Hertz-partner payout when your rental is three days or longer

Fine print that matters

The on-site terms call out several restrictions.

  • Advance reservation is required.
  • 1–2 day rentals only get the normal base earn.
  • The booking should display (or you should add) CDP 154080 and PC 211864;
  • Marriott says to enter them if they don’t auto-populate.
  • The offer can’t be combined with pre-pay rates, tour rates, insurance replacement rates, or “any other certificate, voucher, offer or promotion.”
  • Points can take up to six weeks to post and the offer is “participating locations” only.
  • If you modify your reservation, your rate/eligibility can change.

Book through Marriott’s portal and keep the codes intact.

How to book it without headaches

Start at activities.marriott.com and choose the Car Rental tab. Search your city and dates; you’ll see the “Get 3× the points” banner threaded into results. Make sure your Marriott Bonvoy number is attached before checkout and that the Hertz corporate and promotion codes appear on the reservation. If you prefer to book directly at Hertz, use the dedicated Marriott partner page and add your Bonvoy number—though the safest way to trigger the promo is via Marriott’s portal where the offer is surfaced.

When it’s a good deal—and when to skip it

Hertz

If you’re renting 3+ days with Hertz anyway, this is a painless bonus on top of your travel plans. Over a year, a couple of longer rentals can add a few thousand Bonvoy points—enough to push a certificate top-up or cover an off-peak fifth-night-free stay at a lower-tier property.

For 1–2 day rentals, you’ll only get the standard 500-point partner credit, so the promo isn’t a reason to change your booking strategy. Third-party car-rental guides and Marriott’s own help pages confirm the normal earn amounts and timelines, which line up with what’s on the promo page.

There are a few trade-offs to consider. Booking with a public promo can sometimes price higher than corporate or member-only rates you’re eligible for elsewhere. Hertz also runs its Gold Plus Rewards promos (free-day accelerators) that might be more valuable for frequent renters; you generally pick either hotel points or Hertz points as your earning preference, so compare the math before locking in Bonvoy earning. If your credit card includes primary rental coverage, remember you’ll get that protection no matter where you click “Book,” so chase the best total value, not just the points headline.

Bottom line

Marriott’s 3× Hertz push is a legitimate, easy win if you have a 3+ day rental before mid-November and you value Bonvoy points. Use Marriott’s car-rental portal, keep the CDP/PC codes on the reservation, and expect points to post within six weeks. If a competing Hertz promo or cheaper rate brings better value, take the lower price; otherwise, this is a simple way to harvest extra hotel points from a trip you were already taking.
