Choice Privileges Titanium Elite is the highest status tier in the Choice Privileges loyalty program, introduced with the 2026 program overhaul. It’s designed to reward the most loyal guests with a mix of points bonuses, on-property perks, and — most notably — a once-per-year “Titanium Travel Award” that offers a 50% points discount on a premium reward stay.
But here’s the catch: Not all brands participate, not all rates count, and the most valuable benefits are easy to miss if you don’t know the details. That’s why understanding the rules is critical before you chase this status.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements for Titanium Elite?
To achieve Choice Hotels Titanium Elite, you must meet one of the following within a single calendar year:
| Qualification Path | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Elite Qualifying Nights (EQNs) | 55 paid, points-eligible nights |
| Elite Qualifying Credits (EQCs) | 110,000 EQCs |
| Status Match | One-time match to Titanium |
| Co-branded Credit Card Benefit | Via Choice Privileges Mastercard |
The status is valid from the date you meet the requirements through December 31 of that year, as well as throughout the following year. For example, if you earn 55 nights in July 2026, you will have Titanium status through December 31, 2026, and throughout 2027.Jan 1, 2027.
All Ways to Earn Titanium Elite Status
Let’s break down each path — because not all “nights” and “credits” are created equal.
1. Stay 55 Paid, Points-Eligible Nights
- Only paid nights booked directly with Choice (website, app, or call center) at points-eligible rates count.
- Most Choice brands count; an exception is WoodSpring Suites (extended-stay), which does not participate in earning status.
- Be careful with corporate or other negotiated rates — only “eligible” rate plans count toward status (check the Choice website or ask when booking).
2. Earn 110,000 Elite Qualifying Credits (EQCs)
- EQCs are the sum of base points earned on paid, eligible stays within the calendar year. In practice, that’s 10 base points per $1 (on up to 51,000 points per stay for normal hotels, fewer for extended-stays).
- Because EQCs come from base points, award nights (free nights) do not earn any EQCs.
- You can also earn EQCs via the Choice Privileges co-branded Mastercard (or Select Mastercard). The no-fee version earns 5x EQCs per $1 at Choice stays, the premium version earns 10x EQCs per $1. (That means, e.g., a $2,000 hotel bill on a Premium card yields 20,000 EQCs.) Even everyday purchases in bonus categories can generate EQCs if they earn Choice points.
- Loyalty bonuses (e.g. Titanium 50% bonus) and mileage transfer points do not count. Only the “Stay Base Points” (the standard earn on room revenue including tax/extras) count toward the 110,000 EQC threshold.
3. Status Match
- Occasionally, Choice offers one-time status matches from competing hotel programs. If approved for Titanium status mid-year, the Titanium Travel Award and other perks kick in immediately and last through Dec 31 of that year (and sometimes, if matched in July–Dec, you might even receive a second award that runs into the next year).
- Requirements and availability of status match offers vary. Keep an eye on Choice’s announcements or email offers.
4. Co-Branded Credit Card Fast-Track
The U.S. Choice Privileges Mastercard offers two big accelerators for status:
- EQC bonuses: Link your Choice Mastercard to your loyalty account and earn bonus EQCs on certain spends. The no-fee card gives 5x EQC on hotel spend, premium gives 10x. (This is in addition to base points, which also create EQCs.)
- Elite Night Credits: Some card versions award 10 Elite Night Credits each year on account renewal. (For example, if you normally need 55 nights, bank 10 NRCs each renewal year makes it effectively 45 actual stay nights.)

Titanium Elite Benefits

Let’s dig into the real-world perks you unlock with Titanium Elite. Each benefit comes with its own rules, exclusions, and value proposition.
Titanium Travel Award: The Headline Perk
Once per calendar year, Titanium members receive a coupon for 50% off the points cost of a reward stay (up to 7 consecutive nights, one room) at select premium Choice brands.

Only certain higher-end brands participate. These include Ascend Collection, Cambria, Radisson (and its Sapphire/Blus/RED/Individuals lines in the Americas), plus Westgate Resorts and Bluegreen resorts. You must book through Choice’s website or app to use the Travel Award. (Note: Choice’s rules also mention Park Plaza among eligible brands, but that appears to refer to international Park Plaza properties.)
Choice does not publish a public list of eligible hotels. Instead, log into your account and use the “Travel Award” search filter on Choice’s site or app. This filter will automatically display only the hotels where the award applies.
The award must be booked and completed in the same calendar year you earned Titanium. If you qualify in 2026, use it by Dec 31, 2026. (A mid-year qualifier gets one award immediately and a second on Jan 1 of the next year.)
Restrictions: Only one Titanium Travel Award can be active per year; you can’t stack or transfer it. It cannot be used at Choice’s Preferred Hotels & Resorts affiliate or at budget brands (Comfort, Quality, Sleep Inn, Econo Lodge, etc.). Also, you cannot hold more than one certificate at a time, and you cannot use it for a stay that spans New Year’s Eve.
Real-life value
The value depends entirely on where and when you use it. For example, a $200/night Cambria that normally costs 20,000 points/night becomes 10,000 points/night with the Travel Award. A 3-night stay there would normally require 60,000 points; with the Travel Award you pay just 30,000 points — effectively getting ~2¢ per point in value, which is excellent for Choice points if you maximize it. In other words, use it on an expensive property (high cash rate, high points rate) to max out value. We’ve seen the cap is 50,000 points/night, so the theoretical max is 175,000 points saved across 7 nights, but typical eligible hotels range 8,000–35,000 points/night.
Do not wait until late December to search — availability can dry up. Booking engine quirks mean sometimes an eligible hotel only shows up on certain dates, then vanishes; you may need to shift dates or search multiple times. If possible, use your Travel Award well before year-end. Remember, once Dec 31 hits the clock, any unused certificate expires.
Complimentary Breakfast

Free breakfast for you and one guest at participating hotels under certain brands in the Americas.
Diamond and Titanium members automatically get a free breakfast (typically a continental or buffet) at hotels in Radisson’s upscale brands in North/South America. That includes Radisson, Radisson Blu, Radisson RED, Radisson Collection, Radisson Individuals, and Park Plaza locations in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
It’s automatic at check-in — no need to register separately.
What are the exceptions?
Ascend Collection and Cambria brands are not officially listed in the Choice terms for the free breakfast benefit. (Some individual Cambria/Ascend hotels may offer perks, but there’s no guaranteed corporate-wide breakfast benefit there.).
This only applies in the Americas. Radisson properties outside the Americas do not participate, nor do any Comfort/Quality/Sleep Inn/Econo Lodge, etc.
Real-world value
Expect to save roughly 10–30 per person per day. This is particularly significant because Radisson and Cambria hotels often charge for breakfast otherwise. (Cambria/Carlson-owned Ascend plus Park Plaza typically have pricier breakfast add-ons.) If you stay a lot at these hotels, the savings quickly add up.
Guaranteed Room Availability
If you need assurance of a room in a crunch, Titanium (and Diamond) members can use a guarantee.
By booking at least 48 hours before arrival, you can guarantee a room for your Titanium status at qualifying brands. The guarantee covers a single standard room at the prevailing rate for the member (you must be the registered guest). It even applies if the hotel is otherwise sold out, subject to terms.
Brands covered: Cambria and Ascend Collection hotels worldwide, plus Radisson’s premium brands (including Park Plaza) in the Americas. In practice, that means Cambria/Ascend anywhere, and Radisson/Blus/RED/Collection/Individuals/ParkPlaza in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and Caribbean.
This guarantee is only valid up to 48 hours before check-in; it does not apply to last-minute bookings or the same day.
This is especially valuable when you expect high demand (for example, during the peak of the summer tourist season or during city events). You can book a room with a guarantee and avoid the risk of not being accommodated. However, the downside is that payment is made for the full cost of the stay, not in points, and this applies only to your own room.
Upgrade and Room Preferences
All elite levels can request complimentary upgrades; Titanium members have top priority on that stack.
Eligible brands (primarily Ascend, Cambria, Radisson upscale) typically offer a complimentary upgrade when available at check-in. Upgrades usually mean a larger room or better view — though “suite upgrade” isn’t guaranteed. Each hotel decides upgrade policy and availability.
You also have access to specifying room preferences (high floor, king bed, etc.) when you book. The hotel will try to honor preferences where possible.
Real-world value
Variable. Sometimes you’ll get nothing extra; other times you may move from a standard room to an atrium room, corner, or junior suite. At minimum, Titanium status puts you at the front of the line for any available upgrade. Always mention your status and preferences at check-in.
Elite Welcome Gift
A small amenity upon check-in to recognize elite status.
Properties may offer either a small bonus points grant (often 100–250 points) or a snack/beverage. You’ll get one per stay, only for the member’s room. The exact gift varies by brand and hotel (for example, some Radisson hotels now give a $5 drink voucher).
Real-world value
Generally modest. The points (worth maybe $1–2) or a drink during check-in are nice, but nothing major. It’s more symbolic of being recognized as an elite guest.
Priority Customer Service
Priority Customer Service it is access to a dedicated elite service line for support calls.
How it works:
- When calling Choice customer service, provide your elite number or benefit from an “elite queue.” This usually means shorter hold times and having agents who are aware of your status.
- Note: It’s not a 24/7 override of policies, but it can help when you need clarification or appeals.
Helps during booking issues or if something goes wrong. Titanium members aren’t completely “VIP” in the hotel industry sense, but having a line or email marked for elites speeds up routine requests and problem resolution.
Bonus Points on Paid Stays
While the Titanium status is active, members receive a 50% bonus on base points for all eligible paid stays.
How it works:
- Whenever you earn base points on a paid stay (10 points per $1 at most brands), Titanium gives an extra 50% on those base points. So instead of 10, you get 15 points/$1.
- This bonus does not apply to award stays, taxes, fees, or any promotional bonus. It’s purely on the base earning rate of the room bill.
Real-world value
Over many stays, this adds up. For example, a $300 bill normally nets 3,000 points; Titanium earns 4,500. If you value points at ~1¢ each, that’s an extra $15 on that stay’s points. Heavy road-warriors find this useful, as it accelerates future redemptions.
How to Use the Titanium Travel Award: Step-by-Step
The Titanium Travel Award is the most valuable (and most complicated) benefit. Here’s how to actually use it — without missing out.
1. Confirm Your Award Is Available
- Log in to your Choice Privileges account. After you qualify for Titanium, you should see a Titanium Travel Award coupon in your account dashboard (under “Your Rewards” or similar).
- If you’ve qualified but don’t see the award, double-check your qualification was recorded. If it’s missing, contact Choice Elite Support and provide proof (foliage, credit card statements, etc.).
2. Search for Eligible Hotels
- Use Choice’s website or mobile app (desktop works too). Start a reward stay search as usual, but apply the “Travel Award” filter before viewing results. This filter will limit your search to only those properties where the Titanium Travel Award is valid.
- Eligible hotels will also display a 50% points discount in the result list or price calendar. For example, a property showing “10,000 points/night with Travel Award” instead of 20,000 is a green flag.
- Remember: The Travel Award filter/search is the only way to confirm eligibility. Choice does not publish a list, so rely on the engine’s output. You may have to try different dates or even change the city search (sometimes the tool is glitchy and a later date shows additional options). There’s no harm in repeatedly adjusting your dates because eligibility and availability can shift.
3. Book Your Stay
- Once you’ve found an eligible hotel with open inventory, book it promptly. The stay must be completely checked out by Dec 31 of your award year. (If hotels show availability into early January, beware—those nights might technically straddle two years and could disqualify the award.)
- The Travel Award covers 1 room, up to 7 nights, for 50% off the normal points rate. It cannot be used for multiple rooms or multiple separate stays at once.
- Booking process: after selecting your room and dates, there should be an option to apply your Travel Award; the point cost should then display as exactly half of normal. If the checkout screen doesn’t show the 50% price, do not pay—either you missed a step or that room isn’t actually eligible.
4. Verify the Discount
- When reviewing the booking confirmation, ensure the points charge is 50% of the standard redemption rate (for example, 30,000 instead of 60,000). Take a screenshot or print the confirmation page. Save your Titanium Travel Award coupon screenshot too.
- If at any point the discount disappears (say you cancel and try to rebook, or you let a hotel call you and they see the “full price”), exit and redo the reservation through the official portal with the filter. Points pricing can change daily, so you might lose the special rate if you’re not careful.
5. Check In and Enjoy
- Upon arrival, present your ID and Choice status info as usual. Most hotels should already see the booking as an award stay at 50%.
- If a front desk rep is confused (rare, but it happens), politely explain that this is a Titanium Travel Award stay and show the confirmation screenshot. If necessary, call the Choice Privileges elite line or forward the confirmation email to the hotel GM.
- If any issues arise (for example, the hotel says the award is not showing on their system), escalate to Choice’s elite customer service immediately with all your translated docs.
Critical caveats:
- Never assume the award is fully booked in stone until you’ve checked in. If you cancel that reservation you just made, your Travel Award goes back into your account balance, but the availability might vanish. The safe play is: once booked and you’re happy, don’t fiddle with that booking.
- If you find yourself in December with the award unused, book something even if your original target hotel is gone. A one-night stay at an eligible Cambria is better than losing the credit entirely.
- Remember: stays that start one year and end in the next (e.g. Dec 30–Jan 2) typically cannot be covered by one award (the award is strictly within one year) .
Brand and Region Participation Matrix: Where Do Benefits Actually Apply?
One of the most confusing aspects of Choice Hotels Titanium Elite is the patchwork of brand and region participation. Here’s a consolidated view, focusing on the benefits and brands that matter most:
| Benefit | Brands Included (Americas) | Brands Excluded | Regions Included | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Titanium Travel Award | Ascend, Cambria, Radisson (all lines), Westgate, Bluegreen | Comfort, Quality, Sleep Inn, Econo Lodge, Preferred Hotels & Resorts | U.S., Canada, LatAm, Caribbean | Official rules mention Park Plaza & others abroad, but U.S. travelers will mainly see the listed brands. |
| Free Breakfast | Radisson, Radisson Blu, Radisson RED, Radisson Collection, Radisson Individuals, Park Plaza | Comfort, Quality, Sleep Inn, Econo Lodge, etc. | U.S., Canada, LatAm, Caribbean | Applies only to Radisson-owned brands (and Park Plaza) in the Americas. Ascend/Cambria are not listed here. |
| Guaranteed Room Avail. | Cambria, Ascend (worldwide); Radisson brands (+Park Plaza) in Americas | All others | U.S., Canada, LatAm, Caribbean | Book ≥48h in advance. Covers member’s standard room. |
| Room Upgrades | Participating Ascend, Cambria, Radisson brands (varies by hotel) | Extended-stay brands like WoodSpring | All regions (varsigue by brand) | At-hotel discretion. More likely at premium brands. |
| Bonus Points (50% on stays) | All points-eligible brands | WoodSpring Suites (no points earn) | All regions | Automatically applied on base points at all standard hotels. |
| Elite Welcome Gift | All participating brands (varies by hotel) | — | All regions | Usually 100–250 points or snack/drink on arrival. |
Always verify participation for a specific property with the Choice booking engine or by calling the hotel. Program terms can change, and local franchisees sometimes opt out of certain perks without notice.
Troubleshooting and Escalation: When Things Go Wrong
Even if you follow the rules, things can go sideways—benefits don’t post, Travel Awards become “ghosts”, or stays don’t count. Here’s how to recover:
- Keep detailed records: Save all booking confirmations, hotel folios with your member number, Elite Award coupons, and screenshots of each step. This documentation is your lifeline.
- Missing credits or benefits: First, use the official channels. Call Choice Privileges Customer Service (800-300-8800, 7A–10P MST) or use the Choice contact form. Clearly state the issue (e.g., nights not credited, Travel Award not applied) and attach proof.
- Escalation: If initial service doesn’t fix it, politely escalate. Tweet @ChoiceHotelsHelp or email [email protected] (this is the corporate guest relations team). In rare cases, members have had success writing a detailed email to corporate executive customer relations—some details (and patience) often help.
- Proof ready: Always have your evidence ready: screenshots of your account showing status, the problematic booking (with Travel Award filter on/off), and the final bill or email. If a stay or points didn’t post, send the folio with dates and your member number. The more organized you are, the faster they’ll resolve it.
The key is persistence and courtesy. Mistakes get fixed if you push with a calm, documented case. And check your Choice account statements each month to catch any missing nights or points early on.
Is It Worth It? Who Should Pursue Titanium Elite?
If you regularly stay at Ascend, Cambria, or Radisson properties in the Americas—and can use the Travel Award for a high-value redemption — Choice Hotels Titanium Elite can be extremely lucrative. Here are some guidelines:
- Yes, if… Your usual hotels are in the participating brands (Cambria, Ascend Collection, Radisson family, etc.). If you spend ≥50 nights or equivalent credits, you’ll stack up bonus points quickly and get real breakfast/upgrade perks on paid stays. The Titanium Travel Award can represent hundreds of dollars of savings per year if you use it on an expensive city or resort hotel. For a frequent business or leisure traveler staying in these brands, Titanium is worth chasing.
- Maybe, if… You have a mix. For example, if you mainly stay at Radisson/Ascend but also some Comfort/Quality around the holidays. You might still qualify and enjoy the upgrades/free breakfast when you do stay at the good brands. Even if only 60% of your nights are perks-eligible, the award and bonus points could pay off.
- No, if… Your stays are almost exclusively at budget brands (Comfort, Econo Lodge, etc.) or outside the Americas (Radisson outside NA). In those cases, Titanium’s perks mostly vanish. In that scenario, Gold or Platinum may already cover your needs (they still earn bonus points, and Gold also has free breakfast at Radisson brands). Also consider the effort: 55 nights is a lot if you’re not a road warrior. If you’ll struggle to hit that, focus on simpler perks (like the Choice credit card’s night credit bonuses, for instance).
Quick decision flow
- Check how many stays you do at Ascend/Cambria/Radisson/Westgate. If it’s a big chunk, count the bonus breakfast value (~$20 x number of those stays’ nights) plus your usual points redemption benefit. If the incremental gain (multiple hundreds of dollars presumably) exceeds the effort (book direct every time, hit the nights/card targets), push for Titanium.
- If you already have elite nights from last year or can “bank” on one more renewal card boost, maybe jump straight to it. If not, and if you’re near 35 or 45 nights (Diamond territory), consider if shoring up the last 10–20 nights is realistic without derailing budgets.
Frequently Asked Questions
Bottom Line
Choice Privileges Titanium Elite offers real value — but only if you play by the (sometimes hidden) rules. The Titanium Travel Award can deliver hundreds of dollars in value if used wisely, but it’s easy to miss out if you don’t plan ahead. Focus your stays and spending on the right brands, use the award early, and always keep documentation. If you’re strategic, you can turn Titanium Elite from a confusing perk into a powerful tool for free and upgraded hotel stays.
Keep in mind: like all loyalty tiers, it shines with consistent application. Mark your calendar for Jan 1 any year you qualify (to claim that second Travel Award), and keep an eye on the official terms each January (since thresholds can shift). With attention to detail, Titanium Elite should pay off for the traveler who aims high.
