What’s New with Chase Ink Business & Chase Travel: DashPass, Points Boost, & Travel Credit.
Chase has introduced several notable updates for Ink Business Preferred and Sapphire Reserve cardholders, enhancing card benefits with practical tools and improved value when booking through Chase Travel.
1. Free DashPass with Chase Ink Business
One of Chase’s improvements is a new partnership with DoorDash, which offers cardholders free DashPass benefits.
What is DashPass?
DashPass is a subscription service from DoorDash that eliminates delivery fees and reduces the cost of servicing eligible orders. It’s designed for regular users of the platform, offering savings on food, grocery, and store deliveries, etc. Subscribers also get access to exclusive promotions and priority customer support. DashPass typically costs about $10 per month, but with regular use, it can quickly pay for itself.
Eligibility: Available to primary and authorized users of the Ink Business Preferred card.
Free DashPass with Chase Ink Business Preferred
Eligible Chase Ink Business Preferred cardholders who activate their DashPass membership by December 31, 2027, can enjoy:
- 12+ months of complimentary DashPass access (applies to both DoorDash and Caviar)
- $0 delivery fees on eligible orders from participating merchants
- $10 monthly discount on qualifying non-restaurant orders (U.S. only)
Key Activation Terms:
- DashPass must be activated with the card set as the default payment method
- Only orders from DashPass-eligible merchants qualify
- To receive both DashPass and the $10 monthly credit, users must use their Chase Ink card at checkout
- The DashPass benefit is valid across all authorized users, but the 12-month clock starts from the first activation date
- Mobile wallets (Apple Pay, Google Wallet) are excluded
The monthly $10 non-restaurant discount does not carry over, so any unused portion expires at the end of each calendar month.
Use this by: Adding the card as the default payment method in DoorDash/Caviar and activating DashPass through the Chase benefits interface.
2. New Chase “Points Boost” Feature
In addition to delivery privileges, Chase is reimagining how Ink Business cardholders can use their points for travel. With the introduction of the Points Boost program, users have more control over maximizing the value of their rewards. This new system offers higher fares for certain types of travel and introduces a phased approach to changing the value of points starting in October 2025.
What It Does: Replaces fixed portal redemption rates (1.25¢–1.5¢ per point) with dynamic, higher-value redemptions on select travel bookings—all through Chase Travel.
Redemption Rates:
Card | Hotel Boost | Airfare Boost |
Sapphire Reserve / Reserve B | Up to 2.0¢/pt (The Edit & eligible hotels) | Up to 2.0¢/pt (premium cabins) |
Sapphire Preferred / Ink BP | Up to 1.5¢/pt (hotels) | Up to 1.75¢/pt (premium airfare) |
Availability: Shown via rocket icon in portal search results. Airlines like United, Emirates, Air Canada, Qantas, Singapore appear in higher-value fare classes.
Bonus Timeline:
- As of Today (Effective Immediately)
- Points Boost Active: Cardholders can begin using the new Points Boost feature, enabling redemptions of up to 1.5x value on select hotels and flights via Chase Travel.
- $50 Travel Credit: Users can apply their extra $50 travel credit on Chase Travel bookings, available right away.
- DashPass Activation: Complimentary DashPass with $0 delivery fees is now available. Members must activate it before December 31, 2027.
- Starting October 26, 2025
- New Point Redemption Rate: Any points earned after this date will be redeemable at a 1:1 rate on Chase Travel (no longer at the current 1.25x standard).
- Grandfathered Rate Protection: Points earned before October 26, 2025, will retain the 1.25x value on Chase Travel for an additional two years.
- Through October 26, 2027
- After this date, all unredeemed points—regardless of when they were earned—will no longer qualify for the 1.25x rate unless part of a Points Boost offer.
- And Beyond (Post October 26, 2027)
- Points Boost Ongoing: All redemptions will rely on the Points Boost system, allowing enhanced values of up to 1.5x for select travel purchases.
- No Standard 1.25x Option: The 1.25x flat rate will be fully phased out; cardholders must seek Points Boost-eligible bookings for enhanced redemption value.
It is better to use points primarily for stays in luxury hotels (such as The Edit) and for upgrading airline tickets. Using points in economy and low-cost classes usually returns 1 cent per point, meaning that not all bookings offer good value.
You should compare the use of points on the portal with traditional point transfers. Sometimes, without Boost, transferring points to airline/hotel partners (e.g., Hyatt, Aeroplan) can result in a higher value per point, sometimes exceeding 2–4 cents per point.
Practical Tips: Use Points Boost for luxury hotel stays via “The Edit” or premium cabins—otherwise, consider comparing with partner transfers which may offer better return.
3. Extra $50 Annual Travel Credit
Ink Business Preferred cardholders are offered an additional $50 travel credit that can only be redeemed through Chase Travel. This credit must be redeemed by June 23, 2026, and can help offset travel expenses booked on the Chase portal.
Conclusion
Overall, the Chase Points Boost feature is a useful tool that significantly changes how cardholders can benefit from their Ultimate Rewards points (by getting even more value when booking certain trips through Chase Travel), but it works best when combined with a smart points-spending strategy.
