Starbucks and Marriott International have launched a new loyalty partnership that helps rewards members earn more when they combine their coffee habits with their travel plans. At its core, this initiative lets Starbucks Rewards members and Marriott Bonvoy members link their accounts so they can earn rewards on both everyday coffee purchases and hotel stays, creating genuine cross-brand value for frequent guests and loyalty enthusiasts alike.

Once accounts are linked through the dedicated portal at starbucks.marriott.com, members begin unlocking a range of benefits designed to fuse two of life’s most popular activities: drinking Starbucks coffee and staying at Marriott properties. Through this collaboration, travelers can earn double Starbucks Rewards Stars on qualifying purchases at participating Starbucks locations throughout the U.S. when those purchases occur during an eligible Marriott Bonvoy hotel stay. In other words, your morning cup while on the road can earn more than it used to, it can earn loyalty currency faster.
Complementing the double Stars benefit are seasonal reward opportunities tied to what the brands call Marriott Bonvoy Weeks. During these designated weeks, which occur periodically throughout the year, linked members who complete three qualifying Starbucks purchases at participating stores can earn 100 Marriott Bonvoy points. These points can go toward free nights, upgrades, or experiences within the Marriott ecosystem.
Marriott Bonvoy Week at Starbucks – February 16 – 22. For the United States only. Participants with linked accounts will receive: double stars for qualifying Starbucks transactions during qualifying stays at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels, excluding stays at Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, and 100 Marriott Bonvoy points after completing 3 qualifying Starbucks transactions during Marriott Bonvoy Week.

The partnership also gives members flexibility to transfer Marriott Bonvoy points into Starbucks Stars on a controlled basis. Members can move between 1,000 and 50,000 Bonvoy points per day into Starbucks Rewards in increments of at least 10 points. Once converted, those points appear in the member’s Starbucks account within a couple of business days. This transfer option further ties the two programs together, though whether it’s worthwhile depends on how you value each type of currency and how you plan to redeem them.
Why this matters is simple
Loyalty programs have become an increasingly important part of daily life for frequent travelers and habitual coffee drinkers alike. By linking their loyalty currencies, Starbucks and Marriott are offering members a way to get more value from both their travels and their everyday purchases, even when they’re not checking into a hotel. The strategy reflects a broader trend in the loyalty industry where brands from different sectors collaborate to deepen engagement and offer richer reward possibilities.
In practical terms, this partnership rewards members for behaviors they’re already doing, sipping coffee and traveling, but does so in a way that makes both programs a little more rewarding. Whether you spend most mornings at your local Starbucks or rack up nights at Marriott hotels around the globe, linking your accounts could be a smart way to earn more rewards without doing much extra.
