Did you know that your monthly rent can turn into travel perks? That’s what the elite Bilt Rewards loyalty program promises—a unique multi-tiered system for renters and cardholders. Bilt Rewards is an American program that allows you to earn points for rent (no fees) and other expenses, which can be exchanged for travel or even a down payment on future housing. But in addition to earning points, Bilt has introduced status tiers (Blue, Silver, Gold, Platinum) that unlock additional benefits for the most active participants. Earning Bilt Elite Status (Points vs. Spending)

Bilt offers two (2) pathways to earn elite status: via points earned or via qualified spending. Each tier has an annual qualification requirement – either a points threshold or a spending threshold (whichever you hit first) :

• Silver: 50,000 Bilt points in a calendar year or $10,000 in eligible spending
• Gold: 125,000 points or $25,000 in spending
• Platinum: 200,000 points or $50,000 in spending

All Bilt members are Blue by default with no minimum – Blue is the starting tier for everyone. Importantly, Bilt will automatically give you the higher tier you qualify for by either method. For example, if you earned 130,000 points in a year but only spent $20,000, you’d still reach Gold (since 125k points qualify you). Likewise, heavy spenders who don’t rack up points via rent can fast-track status through partnered spending categories.

What counts as “eligible spending” for status?

Bilt introduced the spending track in 2024 to account for all the new ways you can earn Bilt points beyond rent.

Eligible spend includes non-rent purchases in the Bilt ecosystem: for instance, paying for Lyft rides (with Bilt set as your rewards partner), booking SoulCycle or other fitness classes in the Bilt app, dining at Bilt Dining restaurants, making purchases at Walgreens, and even booking travel through the Bilt Travel Portal. Any credit or debit card linked to your Bilt account will count toward status when used for these partner activities. Yes, you understood correctly, you can connect cards that do not belong to Bilt. You can add any eligible Visa, Mastercard, or American Express card (from any bank) to your Bilt app wallet. For purchases made with Bilt partners and tracked with these connected cards, you’ll earn Bilt points in addition to your card’s regular rewards.

Rent points count toward the points-based status path but not the “fast-track spend” path.

Does Bilt Status Reset Every Year?

Bilt’s elite status works on a calendar year cycle. When you earn a status tier, you keep it for the remainder of that year and all of the next year. For example, if you hit status in May 2025, you remain that status through December 31, 2026. The clock resets after that, meaning you’ll need to re-qualify in 2026 to keep status in 2027, and so on. So the earlier in the year you qualify, the longer you enjoy your status benefits.

Bilt Blue Status – Base Tier Perks

Bilt Blue is the entry-level status for all Bilt members. There’s no requirement to be Blue; you’re automatically Blue upon joining the program. While it’s considered the “starter” tier (not really elite), Blue members still enjoy several foundational benefits :

• 1:1 Point Transfers to Travel Partners. Even at Blue, you can transfer Bilt points to all Bilt Rewards transfer partners (airlines and hotels) at a 1:1 rate in most cases. • Earn Interest on Points. This is a unique Bilt feature – your points balance will accrue a small amount of “interest” in the form of additional points. The rate is tied to the FDIC national savings rate. Don’t expect a windfall (with ~10,000 points average balance you might earn ~4 points a month in interest ), but it’s free extra points just for holding a balance, which no other major program offers.
• Better Rent Day Bonuses. Silver members typically get higher bonuses or rewards during Bilt’s monthly Rent Day promotions than Blue members. For example, in one past Rent Day promo, a Blue member got a 75% transfer bonus while a Silver member got a 100% bonus (double points) for the same partner. With Gold status, Bilt really starts to blur the line between a credit card rewards program and a full-fledged elite loyalty program. You’re getting concierge support akin to what ultra-premium cards offer, early event access, and even lounge privileges – all from a no-annual-fee card program focused on rent. Gold is also where the required spend/points begin to indicate a pretty dedicated user.

The ultimate tier, however, ups the ante further, bringing some truly standout perks.

Bilt Platinum Status – Top-Tier Rewards and Perks

Bilt Platinum is the pinnacle of the program, reserved for those earning 200,000 points or spending $50,000 in a year . This is a lofty goal (think: maxing the Bilt card’s 100k rent points and putting a lot of additional spend on it, or perhaps buying a home through Bilt’s real estate partner to earn 250k points in one go ). Platinum status comes with all the benefits of Gold and below, plus the most exclusive perks Bilt has to offer :

• Complimentary BLADE Flight. As a Platinum member, you receive one free BLADE helicopter flight each year between Manhattan and JFK or Newark airports (or in the south of France, between Monaco and Nice). This perk alone is worth a few hundred dollars. Upon reaching Platinum, a voucher or code for the free flight is provided – you can redeem it via the Bilt app’s travel section when booking your chopper ride. Even if you’ve never considered a helicopter transfer, it’s a bucket-list experience that Bilt essentially hands you for earning status. (You still get the 10% discount on additional BLADE flights and lounge access too, of course.)
• Air France/KLM Flying Blue Gold Status (SkyTeam Elite Plus). Perhaps the most far-reaching Platinum perk is an airline status match: Bilt Platinum members can apply for 12 months of Air France–KLM Flying Blue Gold status. Flying Blue Gold is a SkyTeam Elite Plus status, meaning when you fly on Air France, KLM or any SkyTeam airline (like Delta), you’ll enjoy perks like priority check-in and boarding, extra baggage allowance, and airport lounge access on international itineraries. To activate this, Platinum members simply go into the Bilt app, select “Elite Status Match,” and transfer 10,000 Bilt points to Flying Blue. That triggers the status match, and within ~3 business days, you’ll be a Flying Blue Gold member for the next year. Those 10k points aren’t wasted – they become miles you can use for a flight later. And there’s currently no published end date, so presumably you could renew it each year you maintain Platinum.

At higher milestones, sometimes more options appear (and Bilt cardholders see extra choices).
