Some Chase Southwest cardholders are being targeted with a fresh quarterly spending offer: 25% bonus points when you spend $3,000 or more on your Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card, through the end of the year. Like most of these cardholder-specific promos, it’s targeted — not every Southwest cardholder will see it, so check your account before assuming you’re enrolled.
The Offer at a Glance
- Registration window: October 1, 2026 (12:01 a.m. ET) through December 31, 2026 (11:59 p.m. ET).
- Qualifying spend window: the same period — October 1 through December 31, 2026.
- Minimum spend: $3,000 on your Southwest Rapid Rewards credit card during the promotion period.
- Bonus: 25% of your total qualifying spend, in Rapid Rewards points.
- Maximum bonus: 20,000 points, which caps out at $80,000 in spend.
- Posting time: bonus points typically post up to eight weeks after the promotion period ends.
A straightforward example: spend exactly $3,000 during the window and you’d earn 750 bonus points on top of your normal card earnings. Spend the full $80,000 needed to max it out and you’d collect the full 20,000-point bonus.
What Counts — and What Doesn’t
The bonus stacks on top of whatever points your card normally earns on that spend — it isn’t a replacement for your regular earning rate. Per this cycle’s terms, though, the bonus points themselves don’t count toward A-List or A-List Preferred elite status, and don’t count toward Companion Pass qualification — only your normal base points from that spend do. Your card also needs to stay open and in good standing through fulfillment for the bonus to post.
How to Check If You’re Targeted
This offer surfaces through targeted emails from Chase or Southwest, and through a dedicated promotions page in your Southwest Rapid Rewards account. If you don’t see a registration option in either place, you likely weren’t selected for this cycle — there’s no general public enrollment link for a targeted promo like this one.
This Isn’t the First Cardholder Promo This Year
Southwest and Chase have been running a steady rotation of these targeted cardholder promos throughout 2026, with different mechanics each quarter — a nearly identical 25% spend-bonus offer ran in Q1 2026 (registration through March 31) and again in Q2 (April 1–June 30), while Q4 2025 brought a different mechanic entirely: 2X Companion Pass-qualifying points at wholesale clubs and department stores. If this one doesn’t show up in your account, it’s worth checking back next quarter — Southwest rotates through several promo types rather than repeating the same one every cycle.
The Bottom Line
If you’re targeted and already planning to put $3,000 or more on your Southwest card before year-end, registering costs nothing and adds a real 25% on top of your normal earnings. Just don’t shift spending you’d otherwise put toward A-List or Companion Pass qualification onto this promo expecting the bonus points to help there — they won’t.
