Offer Ends: Expired
Southwest has launched a short, straightforward fare sale that can be genuinely useful if your travel dates line up. The airline’s official offer advertises up to 40% off base fares with promo code FLOWERS, with bookings made from April 20 through April 23, 2026. The discount applies before government taxes and fees, and Southwest says seats, days, and markets are limited.

The sale is called the Spring & shout sale, and it covers several different travel windows depending on the route.
- for continental U.S. travel, eligible dates are May 10 through June 10, 2026 and August 11 through September 30, 2026.
- for interisland Hawaii travel, the eligible window is May 10 through June 10, 2026.
- for flights between the continental U.S. and international destinations, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico, the eligible window is August 11 through September 30, 2026.
Promo works on both cash fares and Rapid Rewards bookings. That means travelers using points can still benefit from the reduced base fare pricing, though taxes, fees, and other government-imposed charges still apply to award bookings.
Limitations In the Offer
There are, however, several restrictions that matter. Southwest excludes Anchorage, Aruba, and St. Thomas from the sale. There are also blackout dates, including May 21, May 22, May 25, September 4, and September 7, 2026 for continental U.S. travel, with additional September blackout dates on some Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international routes. Southwest also limits valid travel days by market, so not every day of the week qualifies on every route.
Another important catch: this discount is valid only on new reservations. Southwest says any changes made after purchase will eliminate qualification for the promotion and cause you to lose the promo-code savings. The offer also cannot be combined with other promo codes or special fares, and it does not apply to group travel, Getaways by Southwest vacation packages, GDS bookings, or special military and government fares.
Bottom Line
Southwest’s Spring & shout sale is worth checking if you can book quickly and your dates fall into the eligible windows. The code FLOWERS can cut up to 40% off the base fare on select flights, including eligible Rapid Rewards bookings, but the real value depends on route, travel day, and how much of your ticket price is actually base fare. This is a useful sale, not a universal one, and the best strategy is to compare your planned routes now before the booking window closes.
